These microbes play key roles in nutrient cycling, biodegradation/ biodeterioration, climate change, food spoilage, the cause and control of disease, and biotechnology.

Inter Science Laboratory (ISL) participates in the UK Health Protection Agency Legionella Proficiency Scheme as well as the proficiency programs for bacteriological testing of drinking, wastewater, recreational water, and sewage sludge. Inter Science Laboratory (ISL) offers customized method development and special project design for non-routine analyses using ASTM, AOAC, FDA BAM, CTFA, USP, EPA, APHA, ASM as well as international testing methodologies.
